Defendable welcomes our new CEO!

Defendable is no longer to be considered a newly founded company with origins in former BDO cybersecurity, but an established brand name with customers in a variety of sectors. We have proven ourselves to be a skilled security actor with passion for our profession and our customers' security, as well as a reliable security partner with the ability to work with businesses of all sizes. We are growing rapidly and we have recently hired many new employees, including several well-known faces from the security industry, who has come together to further develop the company. 

From October 2022, Trond Solberg will be Defendable's new CEO.

Our newest colleague has worked for 25 years in Norwegian and international information security. Trond's specialty within secure implementation of cryptography has been utilized for military, public and commercial projects. Recently, he has focused on management and creating healthy business in security companies. His latest adventure was with DNV, where he led their major investment in cyber security within industrial security and critical infrastructure. 

An important motivation for Trond to start working with us was the opportunity to help build Defendable as a security company and partner - "we are in an exciting phase of our company’s growth, in the world's most relevant industry. We are an independent company with the opportunity to define our strategy and choose the direction ourselves.". Furthermore, Trond points out that he is particularly proud of Defendable's complete portfolio of security services. This means that our customers and partners can rely on comprehensive management of their security. Defendable supports customers who are both highly complex and have critical societal functions essential to Norway as a nation - "at a time when all critical infrastructure is increasingly exposed, Defendable has the opportunity to make a big difference". 

Trond will be an important part of achieving our aspirations - "we want to be the place where the best security people want to work, and the natural security partner for the most demanding businesses, regardless of size". 

He is a passionate advocate for intention-based management, with the accompanying information sharing, transparency and flat structure, and can therefore easily associate with Defendable's values; respect, integrity and agility. Trond also wants to emphasize the social aspect and a good work environment - "my colleagues should feel comfortable at work, have fun together and look forward to coming to the office in the morning". 

Outside of work, a lot of time is spent in Toten, where Trond was born and raised. Here, he owns a small farm that is close to his heart. He also has a love for the outdoors and places a particular emphasis on the interest he calls "wood and chainsaws" - an interest which he points out is "most common among men over 50". 

We have already come to know Trond as a motivating, enthusiastic and determined person, and are incredibly happy to have him on board.
