"She brings a wealth of valuable experience that we can greatly benefit from in the phase we are now entering," says CEO Trond Solberg.
Berit Svendsen has had a long career in leadership positions and board roles, including serving as CEO of Telenor Norway and as a board member of DNB. Now, she has joined the board of Defendable and is already contributing significantly with her strategic expertise.
"Having someone with Berit's experience on the team is always a plus, and we take it as a compliment that she wants to help take Defendable to the next level. With the rapid growth we are experiencing, it’s incredibly helpful to have her wise insights guiding us toward new positions, markets, and geographies," says CEO Trond Solberg.
Defendable has seen strong growth since its founding in 2021, and today, nearly 100 security experts are spread across its four offices in Oslo, Gjøvik, Fredrikstad, and Grimstad.
Following impressive growth in 2024, Defendable secured a framework agreement in October with 54 Norwegian municipalities to provide security monitoring, which will accelerate its growth even further. This is something Berit is excited to be a part of.
"There’s no doubt that cybersecurity is already critical for both private and public organizations, and it’s going to become even more important in the coming years. What I’ve seen of Defendable’s work and how they operate has really impressed me, and I’m very excited to continue this journey with them," she says.
Defendable is currently 60% owned by Strømstangen and Holta Invest, with the remaining shares distributed among smaller investors and employees.
Chairman of the Board, Henning Hansen, echoes Solberg’s enthusiasm about welcoming Berit Svendsen to the board.
"There’s no doubt that Berit’s experience in the technology industry is incredibly valuable for Defendable as we move forward. In the short time she’s been with us, she’s already contributed many insightful ideas and assessments, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice of a new board member," he says.
